A ventriloquist’s dummy that was used by comedy legend Ronnie Barker in a TV advert for Sekonda Watches is to be sold at auction by Cheffins.

The star of The Two Ronnies and Porridge appeared in an advertising campaign for the firm and he was filmed alongside a blonde-haired dummy in a glitzy gold dress in 1978. The campaign used the slogan ‘Sekonda – a lot of watch for a little money’.
